Foundation Websites

Websites that
earn their keep.

Not a template with your logo dropped on it. A site designed around what your business actually sells, built in days rather than months, hosted on our own server, and written so the people looking for you can find you. Every price fixed in writing before we start.

Types of website

Six shapes of site,
one way of working.

Most small businesses need one of these six. If yours is a mix — a shop that also takes bookings, a brochure site with a client login behind it — that's normal, and it's one project, not three.

01

Business & brochure sites

The one most businesses need. Who you are, what you do, what it costs, and an easy way to get hold of you — on a site that loads instantly and looks right on a phone.

  • Home, services, about
  • Enquiry forms
  • Landing pages
  • Edit the words yourself
02

Local service sites

For trades, salons, clinics, garages, gardeners — anyone whose customers live within twenty miles. Built around the towns you cover and the jobs you want more of.

  • Town pages
  • Google Business Profile
  • Reviews
  • Click-to-call
03

Booking sites

A site that fills your diary while you sleep. Customers pick a real slot, pay a deposit if you want one, and get their confirmation and reminder without you touching anything.

  • Live availability
  • Deposits via Stripe
  • Reminders
  • Waitlists
04

Online shops

Sell properly: a basket that works, card payments that clear, stock that stays honest, and postage that doesn't quietly eat the margin.

  • Card payments
  • Stock
  • Postage & collection
  • Discounts
05

Property & listing sites

Anything with a catalogue behind it — properties, vehicles, stock, venues. Search, filters, photo galleries and a detail page that actually sells the thing.

  • Search & filters
  • Galleries
  • Live feeds
  • Enquiry routing
06

Portals & member areas

The bit behind the login. Customers see their orders, their documents, their progress; members see what they've booked — and your inbox stops being the filing system.

  • Customer logins
  • Documents
  • Progress tracking
  • Messaging

Turnaround

A working site
this week.

Agencies quote six weeks because six weeks is how long the queue is, not how long the work takes. There is no queue here and no chain of people to pass it down — so you are usually clicking around a real build inside 72 hours.

Day 0

One conversation

Twenty minutes on what you sell, who buys it and what you want the site to do. You get your fixed price in writing the same day — usually within the hour.

Day 1–3

A link you can click

Not a mockup or a PDF — a real site on a real address. You log into your client portal and watch the checklist tick off as it's built.

Day 3–5

Your words, your photos

You read it, change your mind, send us the photos you meant to send. Two rounds of design changes are included free — that's what this stage is for.

Launch

Domain, HTTPS, Google

We point your domain, fit the security certificate, submit the sitemap and set up your Google Business Profile. Nothing goes live half-finished.

After

We keep it running

Hosted, backed up nightly, patched and monitored on our own server — with the same person who built it answering when you need something changed.

Hosting

It lives on our
server, not a shelf.

Most agencies resell someone else's hosting and forward you the invoice. We run our own server — the same one every platform we've built runs on. If it goes down, our whole portfolio goes down with your site, which is a far better guarantee than anything we could write here.

What's looked after

  • The server itself — set up, patched and monitored by us, not by a support ticket queue.
  • HTTPS certificate — fitted and renewed automatically. No expiry emails, no padlock warnings.
  • Nightly backups — so a bad afternoon is an inconvenience, not a catastrophe.
  • Security updates — applied as they land, without you being asked to approve anything.
  • Domain and email routing — pointed properly, including the DNS records that stop your mail landing in spam.
  • Changes — a new page, a new price, a new photo. You ask the person who built it.

What you won't get

  • A control panel you never asked for — no cPanel, no dashboard full of things you must not click.
  • Renewal letters — no "your package is due" at triple the price you signed up at.
  • Upsells — no SSL as an extra, no backups as an extra, no "premium" support tier.
  • Being held hostage — it is your domain and your site. Want to move it elsewhere? We'll help you pack.

Hosting and looking after it is quoted with the build, so you know the running cost before you commit to the thing that runs.

Being found

SEO written for
your town and trade.

Not a monthly retainer for a report nobody reads. The work that matters mostly happens once, at build time — and we do it as part of building, because a beautiful site nobody can find is an expensive business card.

01

The words people actually type

We write the pages around real searches — "emergency plumber Camberley", not "bespoke plumbing solutions". Your trade, your towns, your jobs.

  • Keyword research
  • Page structure
  • Headings that match intent
02

Local, properly

A page per town you serve, your Google Business Profile set up and filled in, and the location markup that tells Google exactly where you work.

  • Town pages
  • Google Business Profile
  • Map & area markup
  • Reviews
03

Readable by machines

Schema markup describing your business, services, prices and FAQs — so search engines and AI assistants can answer questions about you correctly instead of guessing.

  • Structured data
  • FAQ markup
  • Sitemap & robots
  • Clean URLs
04

Fast, because speed ranks

Our sites are built light on purpose — no page builder bloat, no twelve tracking scripts. Google measures loading speed, and slow pages are quietly demoted.

  • Core Web Vitals
  • Optimised images
  • No bloat
05

Right on a phone

Google ranks what it sees on a mobile, and most of your customers are on one. Every site is designed on the small screen first and checked on real devices.

  • Mobile-first
  • Tap targets
  • Click-to-call
06

Set up to be measured

Analytics and Search Console connected from day one, so in three months you can see which pages bring the calls — and we can sharpen the ones that don't.

  • Search Console
  • Analytics
  • Enquiry tracking

What it costs

One number,
agreed up front.

Two ways to buy it: £250 and it is yours outright, or £220 up front and £19 a month and we host it, back it up and keep it running. What moves the number is how many pages, whether you're selling or taking bookings, and whether anything needs connecting to a system you already use — never how many hours it took us.

Want the changes made for you as well? £45 a month adds 45 minutes of changes on top of the hosting — new prices, a new section, seasonal opening hours, without a quote each time. Nothing gets built until you've seen the price, and the price doesn't move afterwards. If it takes us longer than we thought, that's our problem, not your invoice.

Quick answers

Website questions we get asked

How quickly can my site be live?

A first working build usually lands within 72 hours of us agreeing what we're making. Going fully live depends mostly on how fast you get us your words and photos — a straightforward site is often live inside a week.

Do I have to host with you?

No. Pay £250 and the site is yours outright — we'll set it up on your own hosting and hand it over properly. Hosting with us is £220 up front and £19 a month instead, and it exists because it means we can fix things ourselves rather than raising a ticket with someone else. Either way the site and the domain are yours, and you can move whenever you like.

Do I own the site and the domain?

Yes, both. The domain is registered in your name, and the site is yours. We don't build in anything designed to make leaving painful.

I don't have a domain yet — can you sort that?

Yes. Tell us the name you want and we'll register it for you and add the cost to your invoice — at cost, with no mark-up on top. It goes in your name, so it stays yours whatever happens afterwards.

How many changes do I get?

Two rounds of design changes are included, free. Send everything you want changed in one go each time and we'll turn them round quickly. After that, changes are either part of a monthly package or quoted — and if you're on the amendments package, they're covered every month.

Can I get a refund?

We start work as soon as your details arrive, so the build fee isn't refundable once we've started. That's why the price and exactly what's included are fixed in writing before you pay anything — there are no surprises to be refunded from. Monthly plans are different: cancel any time and you simply stop paying.

What does the SEO actually involve?

Writing pages around the searches your customers really make, a page for each town you cover, structured data describing your business and services, your Google Business Profile set up and filled in, a fast mobile-first build, and Search Console and analytics connected so you can see what's working. It's done as part of the build, not sold back to you monthly.

Can the site take bookings or payments?

Yes — booking and scheduling is one of the things we build most. Customers pick a real slot, deposits go through Stripe, and confirmations and reminders send themselves. Shops take card payments the same way.

Can I edit it myself?

Yes, for the things you'd actually want to change — words, prices, photos, opening hours. We'd rather you didn't have to ring us to fix a typo.

What if I already have a website?

Then we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth rebuilding or just fixing. Sometimes the site is fine and the problem is that Google can't tell what you do — that's a much cheaper conversation.
