Quick answers
The five things people ask
Is it really free?
There is no build fee, and that is the only thing “free” means here. You pay the monthly amount shown at the top of this page, plus a one-off for your domain name at the start unless you already own one. The website itself stays ours while you are on the plan — you are renting it rather than buying it, and that is precisely why there is nothing to pay for the build. We would rather put that on the page than have you find it out later.
What happens if I cancel?
The site is switched off at the end of the month you have paid for. You keep your domain — it is registered in your name, so you can point it anywhere, including at a new site built by somebody else. You keep your content and every enquiry the site has taken for you, and we send all of it over in a form you can use. You do not keep the website. No notice period, no cancellation fee, and nobody will ring you to ask why. We hold a backup for 30 days in case you change your mind.
Can I own it outright instead?
Yes, at any point, for £250 — the same as buying a site from us in the first place. The design and the code become yours, assigned in writing, and we hand everything over in a form another developer or host can use. The monthly plan stops, or becomes ordinary £18 hosting if you would like us to keep looking after it. Nothing is deducted for what you have already paid and nothing is added for how long you have been with us.
How many changes do I get?
There is no limit, and no charge. New prices, a new photograph, different opening hours, a new service, a page that needs rewriting — email us and we do it, usually the same working day for small things. Counting them would be a worse experience for you than the odd busy month is for us. What it does not stretch to is a new thing pretending to be a change: a shop, a booking system, a members' area or a rebuild because the business has changed direction. Those are new work and we quote them before starting, rather than silently absorbing or silently refusing.
Will I come up first on Google?
We will not promise that, because nobody honestly can — Google decides what ranks, changes its mind regularly, and your competitors are working on it too. What we will promise is the work: pages written around your trade and your town, your Google Business Profile set up and connected, structured data describing your business properly, a site that loads fast and works on a phone, and ongoing attention as things move. Anyone guaranteeing you first place is either misunderstanding it or lying to you.
