Common questions

The questions families ask at midnight

How much does care at home cost?
Visits are £29 to £34 an hour depending on time of day, with a half-hour minimum. Live-in care is £1,150 to £1,450 a week. The calculator above works out a weekly total from the pattern you actually need.
Why will you not do fifteen-minute visits?
Because you cannot get someone washed, dressed, medicated and fed in fifteen minutes, and pretending otherwise is how care goes wrong. Our shortest visit is half an hour.
Will it be the same carer each time?
As far as it is humanly possible, yes. Most clients have a team of three or four so that illness and holiday are covered without a stranger arriving unannounced.
Is live-in care cheaper than a care home?
Very often, especially for a couple, because a live-in carer is one fee for two people. It is also far less upheaval. We will do the comparison with you honestly, including where a home would genuinely be better.
Do you help with funding?
Yes. We will explain the local authority assessment, NHS Continuing Healthcare and Attendance Allowance, and help you apply. We do not take a cut of anyone's funding.
What if things change?
Care plans are reviewed properly, and the pattern can go up or down with a week's notice. Nobody should be paying for care they no longer need.
